Rock Effect Bathroom Cladding
No words evoke the feeling of strength more than “rock” and “stone”. It is therefore no surprise that phrases derived from these words run all the way through the English language; from “carved in stone” and “set in stone” to “rock solid” and “steady as a rock”, they have become synonymous with solidity and toughness. It was with this spirit that we looked to create our Rock Collection. Drawing inspiration from many types of natural rock structures, we set ourselves the task of giving you a range of products that that would show the glorious natural patterns of the material and in ways that would suit many different settings.
With natural sandstone, especially with the large shower panels, the multi layered, almost fossil-like design that benefits from having the chance to have such a large are in which to make a statement.
The Tile Groove designs within the collection could be seen as an attempt to tame the wild nature of the subject. The incised 250mm x 400mm lines give the installer the chance to create the looks of both the traditional grid tiling effect, and the staggered brick effect. Either way, these panels bring a touch of class to any room.
And the “concrete” designed panels provide a unified, continuous background to a room. It was created to show in close-up all the fissure and irregularities of polished stone. But in using a limited colour palette, the pattern gives a wall a “rock solid”, homogenous look that provides a background for you to impose your tastes.
A Whole World of Style
There was a time, not long ago when the term “cladding” made us think of a product that was dull and utilitarian, something that was usually unpatterned, probably only used where it had to be because of its ability to be waterproof and easy to fit. Well, it is still waterproof and easy to fit, but everything else has changed... radically.
With the advancement in precision plastic extruding and the constant development within the printing industry, cladding has come of age, making the journey from our garages and utility rooms to our kitchens, bathrooms and beyond. More and more, cladding is becoming the first choice when it comes to creating, or even changing the aspect of a room.
The precise tongue and groove fitting process that is built into panels during their construction means that they fit together to give a continuous surface, leaving behind the 1970s product that had to be chamfered on the edge to hide the irregularities in production. But it is in the variety of colours and patterns where cladding seems to have caught the imagination. Not only can vivid colours be created, but intricate patterns can be formed too. These can be derived from the forms that we see around us in nature, from geometric forms or straight out of the imagination of designers. This has given us the ability to not just show our ranges by colour and panel thickness, but in styles that may help you when creating an atmosphere that you are looking for within a room.
